Now, we want to get a quick snapshot of
how active and healthy your class is.
You can do this in a variety of ways and
your teacher will help to set this up. But
there is one thing you need
Your
thinking and participating caps on.
Task: You are going to produce a
class survey.
What you survey is up to you and your class,
but it must capture both health and
physical activity behaviours of your class.
Some suggested ideas to get you started:
- How do you get to and from school each
day?
- Favourite foods
- How many eat breakfast?
- Treat survey
- How many sports you play?
- Cultural differences in food choices
- Different ways you are active around
the home
- How many minutes you are active each
day
- Everyday foods and sometimes/occasional
foods
Once you have produced your survey you
need to then do a quick tally of your class
results. Record and keep these results for
later use after the Learning Quest. You
could even start making a Health and Fitness
mural of the information and results you
collect across your classroom wall.
Now it is time to investigate and complete
the challenges in the Knowledge Hunt.
This will start you on the journey and extend
your knowledge and understanding about Health
and Fitness including the 5 Fun Ways guidelines
for nutrition and physical activity.
